While the book is not dated, research has shown the John Deere published 28 editions of "The Operation, Care, and Repair of Farm Machinery" between 1927 and 1957 for use in schools in agricultural areas.  The early editions covered mostly horse-drawn farm equipment and began to touch tractors as John Deere had only one model in production at that time.  None of the editions show a published date; however, each edition has the edition number on the cover AFTER the first edition. That would put this edition in the 1930's.
